Amazon brings much needed feature to Echo speakers
Unveiled in April last year, CoWatch, the first Amazon Alexa powered smartwatch has released in India via Yerha.com, and is now rebranded as iMCO Watch.
The new iMCO Watch brings Alexa’s voice-based assistant functionality like asking for weather, controlling your smart home, browsing the Internet, all to the wearable. The watch comes with a 400 x 400 pixel AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of inbuilt storage. It boasts of accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer as well as a heart sensor.
The smartwatch is made of stainless steel apart from the ceramic ring, and is dust and water resistant. You can activate Alexa by pressing down the crown button or by tapping the Alexa icon on the display. There’s no voice-activation like Echo devices though.
iMCO Watch runs on Chronologics OS, company’s own Android-based operating system. While it is compatible with Android and iOS devices, all the computing on Chronologics happens either on the watch or on the cloud, so the watch is not dependent on the phone.
The iMCO Watch is available in two color variants, Mineral Silver and Carbon Black for ₹14,990 ($232) from Yerha, an e-commerce startup in India.
