The rumors of a WebOS smartwatch are true. During the Audi press conference at CES 2015, Audi unveiled a mystery smartwatch that was made in collaboration with LG. Unlike the LG G Watch R, this smartwatch isn’t powered by Android Wear. It’s running WebOS with a UI that almost looked like Android Wear itself. Luckily, the guys at Android Central had a chance to try out the new LG WebOS watch.
The new watch does have the same sort of round body and leather straps as the previous LG watches, but looks much better. Also, Android Central points out that according to the baseband versions the watch could be driven by the same Snapdragon 400. There’s an Audi app for certain features such as unlocking card via NFC. LG also has packed their own apps such as Voice Memo, Remote Shutter, Q Voice and Find My Phone.
No news about when will these watches be sold, or will it be a part of future Audi car sales. But reports suggest that the watch will roll out in 2016.
