BlackBerry today announced it has started to roll out the hotly anticipated 10.2.1 update to all of its users.

The update brings a slew of new features, such as a new pinch gesture to filter the BlackBerry hub, new incoming call screen, improved lock screen notifications, customizable quick settings menu, automatic software updates, and more enterprise features.

More prominently is the addition of a simplified system to install Android apps. Users can now install .apk files over the phone instead of tethering to a PC, making it easier than ever to run Android apps on the device.

The update is already available in the Middle East, so go ahead and search for it on your BlackBerry device.
