ASUS Reveals GeForce® GTX 780 DirectCU II Graphics Cards

http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/5416/prasusgeforcegtx780dire.png

ASUS today announced two GeForce® GTX 780 DirectCU II graphics cards, the new highest-end offerings in its NVIDIA-based graphics card range. They feature an ASUS-designed PCB and a completely new look for the DirectCU II cooler, as well as DIGI+ VRM digital power delivery and robust Super Alloy Power components.

GeForce® GTX 780 DirectCU II cards use an NVIDIA® GK110-300 GPU with 2304 CUDA cores. They ship with 3GB GDDR5 video memory on a 384-bit interface. For avid PC gamers who demand ultra-high detail and readiness for resolutions beyond full HD 1080p, GeForce® GTX 780 DirectCU II cards deliver extreme cooling, stability, and endurance well above reference card requirements.

http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/5416/prasusgeforcegtx780dire.png

ASUS offers GeForce® GTX 780 DirectCU II standard and overclocked (OC) versions.

DirectCU II: 30% cooler and three times quieter
For GeForce® GTX 780 DirectCU II cards, ASUS engineers developed a new thermal design that revolves around a direct-GPU contact 10mm copper heatpipe, compared to traditional 8mm heatpipes. This change on its own contributes to 40% greater heat transfer efficiency. The cooler also uses an intricate heatsink, which ensures a bigger heat dissipation surface area.

Extensive testing guarantees the redesigned DirectCU II cooler maintains ASUS standards, including 30% lower temperatures on average and up to three times quieter performance under heavy load compared to a reference GTX 780. Customers benefit from more stable gaming, low noise environments, a wider overclocking margin, and a longer lasting product.

CoolTech fan: wider airflow keeps critical components cool
The proprietary CoolTech fan used on GeForce® GTX 780 DirectCU II cards enables 360-degree airflow that is much more effective than traditional fans at the same RPM. It consists of a hybrid blade and bearing design, with an inner radial blower and outer flower-type blades. Combined, they provide multi-directional airflow to accelerate heat removal and enable consistently stable graphics card performance.

DIGI+ VRM and Super Alloy Power: cleaner power and greater durability
ASUS includes exclusive DIGI+ VRM digital voltage regulation on GeForce® GTX 780 DirectCU II models. Precise delivery means 30% lower power noise than reference, with instant graphics card stability gains. It also translates into more accurate overclocking.

Super Alloy Power solid state capacitors, chokes, and MOSFETs use custom alloy formulation and concrete cores to eliminate buzzing noise and better withstand heavy loads during intense gaming and overclocking. Compared to reference, the GeForce® GTX 780 DirectCU II has a 2.5 times longer lifespan.

GPU Tweak and NVIDIA® GPU Boost 2.0 technology
Exclusive ASUS GPU Tweak is a user-friendly utility that makes it easy to adjust GPU and video memory speeds, voltages, and fan performance. Customers can also create dedicated profiles for different games, and set graphics card power consumption targets.

Constantly updated, GPU Tweak works well with NVIDIA® GPU Boost 2.0 technology. GPU Boost 2.0 automatically transitions between base GPU clock speeds and boost speeds whenever it detects an application (such as a game) requires more power. GPU Boost 2.0 adds temperature detection for smarter auto overclocking.

ASUS Unveils TUF Sabertooth Z87 and Gryphon Z87 Motherboards

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/5391/prasustufsabertoothz87.jpg

ASUS today introduced two TUF Series motherboards based on the Intel® Z87 Express Chipset for 4th Generation Core™ processors. The ATX Sabertooth Z87 and micro-ATX Gryphon Z87 feature proprietary ASUS-developed thermal designs to deliver enhanced cooling, stability, and reliability. They pass demanding military component and server-grade system operation durability tests.

Features include 10K Black Metallic capacitors and highly survivable chokes and MOSFETs, providing customers long-lasting hardware for intense use in harsh conditions. The sold-separately Gryphon Armor Kit upgrade pack allows users to add premium TUF-exclusive components to the more value-priced Gryphon Z87, improving on its already robust thermal performance to prevent dust build-up and offer flexible DIY assembly options.

Sabertooth Z87 improves fortified stability
Building on the success of Sabertooth Z77, the new Sabertooth Z87 motherboard upgrades various features that make it even more thermally-effective, durable, and resilient.

The TUF Fortifier backplate reinforces the PCB against bending caused by the installation of heavy components such as high-end CPU coolers and graphics cards. Bending may damage board circuitry, and TUF Fortifier virtually eliminates this harmful effect. The rugged backplate attaches to the board using a thermal pad, which further expedites heat dispersal, especially from sensitive CPU voltage regulator modules.

Thermal Armor with Flow Valve refines previous Thermal Armor versions. Dual fans (located at the center of the board and the back I/O) direct heat away from critical components using smart thermal shunt channeling, and the new Flow Valve allows customers to regulate airflow to make the most of their cooling system of choice.

When Flow Valve is closed, it focuses powerful airflow on heatpipes to accelerate passive heat removal, maximizing the efficiency of a CPU liquid cooling kit. For air-based dissipation, opening the valve allows full airflow from a CPU cooler, working together with the Thermal Armor shunt design and included dual fans to enhance cooling performance. Flow Valve signifies another TUF Series innovation that responds to community feedback and accommodates a wider range of cooling systems.

All-new Thermal Radar 2 technology
Both TUF Z87 motherboards include Thermal Radar 2 smart real-time temperature detection. In addition to board-embedded sensors, ASUS bundles three thermistor cables with Sabertooth Z87 so users can manually verify heat levels for the graphics card, hard drives, DRAM and other critical components. Thermal Radar 2 comes with a user-friendly utility that enables detailed fan speed adjustments as well as one-click fan performance tuning for optimal cooling in every scenario.

Protection against environmental contaminants
Dust Defender enclosures guard more I/O ports, expansion slots, and memory slots compared to Z77 TUF offerings. Dust stands as one of the leading causes of diminished performance over time, and Dust Defender mitigates its impact, even in highly dusty environments and during very prolonged usage. With these features, Sabertooth Z87 achieves stability, reliability, and longevity ratings that far exceed those of standard motherboards.

http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/9315/prasustufgryphonarmorki.jpg

TUF Series DIY with Gryphon Z87 and Gryphon Armor Kit
The first micro-ATX motherboard from TUF, Gryphon Z87 shares many of the features found on Sabertooth Z87, such as military-grade components and Thermal Radar 2, while going to market with a highly attractive price point.

http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/2408/prasustufgryphonz87with.png

ASUS has created the Gryphon Armor Kit to help Gryphon Z87 users upgrade the board with add-on parts and features. The kit contains a micro-ATX version of Thermal Armor, the TUF Fortifier backplate, Dust Defender enclosures, and three thermistor cables. When installed, Gryphon Armor Kit improves Gryphon Z87 thermal endurance, reliability, and dust resistance, and gives it a more distinct TUF Series look. Gryphon Armor Kit is sold separately, and combines the joy and flexibility of PC DIY with the benefits of TUF Series thermal efficiency and stability.

ASUS Announces the GeForce GTX 770 DirectCU II Graphics Card

http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/883/prasusgeforcegtx770dire.png

ASUS announced the GeForce® GTX 770 DirectCU II, based on the 28nm NVIDIA® GTX 770 GPU, with 1536 CUDA cores and 2GB of GDDR5 memory and a 256-bit interface. The core runs at up to 1110MHz while memory is rated for 7010MHz. The card delivers strong DirectX® 11 gaming that carries on from the successful GeForce® GTX 600 series with more energy efficient performance. ASUS-exclusive features add value and important capabilities to this already-powerful card, providing PC gamers an attractive new option.

DirectCU II with SSU architecture for 20% cooler and 3X quieter performance
ASUS has implemented a redesigned DirectCU cooler on the GeForce® GTX 770 DirectCU II. The all-copper heatpipes that touch the GPU core directly are engineered in an SSU shape to offer more heat dissipation capabilities without increasing shroud or cooler size. Together with sound-suppressing dual 80mm fans, the card maintains strict ASUS standards of operating 20% cooler and up to three times quieter than a reference GTX 770.

http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/6431/prasusgeforcegtx770dire.jpg

DIGI+ VRM 10-phase power delivery and Super Alloy Power components
Exclusive ASUS DIGI+ VRM digital power architecture ensures increased graphics card stability and cleaner power even during the most intense applications. It is paired with Super Alloy Power capacitors, chokes, and MOSFETs, which all use specially-formulated materials to reduce power noise by as much as 30%, eliminate buzzing, and increase graphics card longevity by up to 2.5 times in comparison to a reference card.

GPU Tweak and NVIDIA® GPU Boost 2.0
To maximize customer access to the power of the GeForce® GTX 770 DirectCU II, the updated GPU Tweak graphics card tuning utility offers an even more user-friendly interface with added options. Customers can easily modify core and memory speeds and voltages, regulate fan speeds, set up power consumption targets, and define custom profiles for specific games.

NVIDIA® GPU Boost 2.0 technology allows for instant alternating between base GPU speed and accelerated boost frequencies, reacting automatically to GPU load. In standard 2D applications the GPU stays in base clock to conserve power consumption, while during gaming or benchmarking it transitions to variable boost clock speeds to deliver more power. Energy consumption has been added as a critical parameter taken into account, ensuring a lower power draw footprint and longer-lasting hardware.
