What ? Who told you that ? How about the 3 elites that are at my place undergoing repair ? They do hae the older zephyr motherboards though. The hardware is exactly the same on all 3 iterations (arcade, pro, elite) so any of them can get RROD. It has reduced a lot with the last revision of the motherboard, the falcon, mine is gonna be 2 years old in Nov and it works fine so far. The jasper, the latest revision of the m/b is supposed to be an improvement over the falcon and is supposed to be less prone to rrod. They have a 3 year warranty for RROD and E74 errors, if at all anything does go wrong. Go ahead, and buy it. To sum it up, they've vastly improved reliability with each iteration of the motherboard. Chances of RROD are very less on Falcon and Jasper m/bs

^^ Jasper is the latest, and the best of the lot. It is a slight improvement over the Falcon motherboard, uses 150W compared to 175W of the falcon. The jasper is current only found on Arcade and pro (rarely) models. I have yet to see them on the Elites over here. Falcon and jasper are just codenames for the type of motherboards found on the 360. So far the order is : Xenon (1st revision)
Zephyr (2nd revision)
Falcon (3rd revision)
Opus (4th revision, without HDMI, only sent on refurbished consoles)
Jasper (5th revision)

I have also heard that pigs CAN indeed fly. All you have to do is wind their curly tail up the other way and away they go! :YelRolly:

The retards at the store wont help you with this, they wont even know what it is in the first place. Look for this sticker on the box:

If the Lot number is anything above 0843, it has a jasper. Also there is a small flap on the box that you can open to see the serial number of the console, double check this to make sure that the final five digits of the serial number are higher than 843xx (where xx = 05,07 etc)
