Hi guys, I'm looking for a client backup solution that can help me pick folders I want backed up, and choose the frequency, and back it all up to the server or a remote location, and shouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

Any ideas? Windows Backup (part of Vista Business) is really rubbish btw.

Thanks.

Thanks, lemme try 'em out. Symantec's bound to cost a fortune though, and Arcserve doesn't provide a client backup solution any more :(

we use Backup Exec which works really really well and has great schedule management etc. Dunno how much it costs, but it's what we use throughout the corp.

Acronis TrueImage is by far the best app I've used.

In addition to what you are looking for darth, TrueImage creates a boot cd (linux most probably) that has the full software on it. You can fully restore data and even the operating system, even if the computer is newly formatted. I know norton ghost had a similiar boot disk, but this one includes the full package in the boot disk, not just emergency restore/backup utilities.

In a properly backed up network, os failure might be a mild nuisance so the main feature of TrueImage might not be very important. If you want to do everything on the client side however it gives you that option.

Its alright. I used it also at my work. Unfortunately some of the images get corrupted on our servers for some unknown reasons.
