Ok any one been caught for the above violation and know what happens?

A friend got caught by a mobile radar flash on the Dubai-Alain highway where the speed limit is 120kmph.

He thinks he was 60km/h more then 120 Any idea if it is only a fine or fine/black points/car impound/jail/lashes/etc????

He's gonna get ****ed proper. I'm not kidding. Car impound, so called black points and hefty fine for certain.

Re: Exceeding speed limit by more then 60kmph.

lol @ lashes. One things for sure - they've got cameras everywhere. Im not much of a speeder except between cameras and I've already hit 600 dhs. One speeding + one 'illegal lane change' or some shit like that.
Btw, anyone knows how much they fine speeders in the US is it more than a 100$? 400 ****ing dhs!

http://archive.gulfnews.com/images/08/02/24/traffic.pdf

if it was more than 60km/h, he gets a fine, black points AND vehicle taken

uh as for the US, it depends on how fast you were going but yes i think you would see 100+ and if you reach a certain limit, you get harsher punishments. same in NZ

Re: Exceeding speed limit by more then 60kmph.

I got flashed on the Dubai-Al ain road on 8th June on my way back from Jabel Hafeet.

We had two cars, my friend had the Caprice so he over-took me all the time, first time that day I decided to over-take him in the LC and I get flashed, WTF!!

I was driving at 140 kmph that time, have to pay Dhs. 400. I don't know if I get black points though, because my dad's had 3 other speeding fines in the past two months.

EDIT: I love how you can see your car's picture online now, looks cool.

Re: Exceeding speed limit by more then 60kmph.

We couldn't figure out who got flashed that night, I was pressing the brakes and my friend said he was speeding and catching up to me.

Looks I got F'd in the A.

The bad part is, all you can see is the front bumper area of the car. nothing above that.

Re: Exceeding speed limit by more then 60kmph.

Do you know when you got flashed did you get a flash in your eyes? or was it probably just your bumper getting flashed?

Re: Exceeding speed limit by more then 60kmph.

Umm I don't know why ask that question, because the flash would obviously be seen.

Yeah I saw the flash go off, it takes the picture of the whole car, this picture you can retrieve by paying RTA Dhs. 50. But online they just show you the bumper which is very convenient.

Re: Exceeding speed limit by more then 60kmph.

Coz we got flashed by a mobile radar, not the normal radar. Also we saw a flash go off, but usually till date, when ever I have been flashed or sitting with someone who has been flashed, the flash hits you directly in your eye.

But today, the flash dint hit us in the eye. So there is either a chance we dint get flashed and it was someone else, or either they just take out bumper photos now.

Re: Exceeding speed limit by more then 60kmph.

Ahh you got flashed by mobile radar, on Dubai-Alain road? :S

Very weird because they've got the big permanent radars over there, so there's no need to place mobile radars. Maybe you guys were mistaken.

Or maybe some jobless people were taking photos. :P

Was this during the night? And what date did you get flashed? If you got flashed today, check online after 3 days and you'll know if you got flashed or not.

EDIT: By the way check online for the number plate '11011' with code 'A'. The guy's got Dhs. 6500+ worth of fines, with stupid fines such as crossing Salik twice without the sticker. He;s also got one impounding ticket too.
