With Google’s I/O conference starting soon, the tech giant is expected to unveil its next generation of their mobile OS. The story posted on Bloomberg Businessweek indicated that Google’s senior vice president, Sundar Pichai, will be previewing Android’s next release which is yet unnamed and only goes by “Android L”. Earlier this week, a Reddit user discovered a screenshot posted on the Chromium Issue Tracker shortly before the link was taken down. The debug icon on the top left appears to be that of an “L”
Considering that Android has kept their naming conventions to confectionaries, Android “L” is likely to be called Lollipop. Pichai also hinted that we will see more of Android Wear and Android TV. Given that they failed at making Google TV big back in 2010, they are looking to approach this area differently this year.
