At a private event today, Google invited us over to a special setup they had created at the JW Marquis Hotel. The interactive tour talked through many of Google’s products, and showed how everyday tasks can be simplified and even automated using Google. For example, a demonstration of Google Now showed how easy it was to look for directions, make notes, search the web, or call a contact – all using voice commands.
Products like Google Now are great for students collaborating on school projects together, while there are an infinite number of educational videos and resources on YouTube. Finally we had a go at using Google Glass, though the company again remained tight-lipped about a public release date or any availability in the Middle East. Overall though, it was a very interesting and memorable peek into how the company is pushing to make its products a seamless part of everyday life.
