Apple to ship MacBook Air with Retina Display in Q3 2013?
In a recent round of leaked information picked by Apple Insider, reports from Taiwanese news agencies suggests that the new MacBook Air will come with a Retina display. The Retina display, first popularized with the iPhone 4, followed by the iPad (3rd gen) and MacBook Pro last year will now filter onto the next generation of MacBook Air.
The expected shipping of the new MacBook Airs is supposed to be in the third quarter of this year. However, since the MacBook Air begins at $999, it is likely that the Retina display models will come in more expensive, just like the current pricing model of the MacBook pros. Indeed we could see the new MacBook Airs come out with the new Intel Haswell processors, whose onboard graphics chip is rumored to have an incredible leap in performance; ideal for supporting a Retina display resolution.

The second part of the report suggests that the next generation of iPad, presumably iPad 5, will use the same 'GF2' glass technology that's currently being used in the iPad mini, resulting in a much thinner full-sized tablet than the current iPads. In fact, the iPad 2 was thinnest of all the iPads released to date, except for the iPad mini which benefits greatly for the thinner display panel.
