Chromebook Pixel Does The Konami Code

If you are the old kind of gamer, you probably remember the Konami Code, a cheat that would unlock a whole variety of goodies in games like Contra, Castlevania, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, and a number of other Nintendo titles. The cheat - up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A - has been used to recently to hide easter eggs and bring that extra bit of nostalgia, like Google has with its new Chromebook Pixel laptop.

Tapping the code initiates a cheeky rainbow show on the Pixel's LED light strip on the laptop's lid, as seen below:

The Chromebook Pixel was announced earlier in the week with a price tag of $1300.

Thanks, Wired - although we are not sure why you would try the code in the first place.
