Google trying to gain a foothold with the talking shoe

SXSW (South by SouthWest) is a held in Austin, Texas every year where you get to see everything from zany to crazy products and services in the tech industry. This year, Google is showing off a pair of shoes with a built-in speaker that provides you feedback based on your movement. Then using Bluetooth, the data is synced to your Smartphone and using conditions, your shoe is given a personality. The team from Engadget was down there and caught it on video:


While the product isn't expected to be one that will ever be released by Google, the technology behind it is certainly cool. It will probably laugh at anyone from our offices that mentions the word gym.
