Half the parents on Facebook want to keep a tab on their kids
It's no surprise that parents want to know what their kids are up to since the dawn of mankind. Being worried about their well-being is obviously part of it, but knowing what kids are into these days is also a huge part of it.
According to a recent survey conducted by Education Database Online, spotted by Mashable, 43% of parents who are friends with their kids on Facebook check out their child's profile every day. 31% check it out 4 to 5 times a week. Most of these are centered around checking out their status updates (43%), followed by what other people post on their kids' walls (39%) and photos they're tagged in (29%).
It's also interesting to know that 65% of friend initiations are made by 13 year old children to their parents, the number dropping significantly, hitting an all time low by the age of 23 where only 40% of initiations are made by the children.
