iWatch? Samsung Plans Their Own Smart Watch, Too

It started with the humble project Pebble, a smart watch Kickstarter project that went viral online and made more than ten times the amount it asked for during its funding. The idea is simple - a digital smart watch that's connected to your phone and provides convenient shortcuts to access certain features and not just tell the time. It was revealed that Apple is most likely working on their own version of such a watch presumably titled iWatch. Well, Samsung isn't one to lag behind.

Samsung Galaxy Altius is the rumored name for Samsung's own smart watch that they appear to be manufacturing as well, and above are leaked images from the watch (courtesy of SlashGear). It does look quite Windows 8-like to be rather than an Android watch, but looks quite legitimate from what we are seeing here. The watch comes with a data plan and has an LCD screen of 500 x 500 pixels, but all this is just assumptions based on the screenshots above that themselves are not verified.

But it makes sense for Samsung to be making these. They're the only ones actually making money from selling Android phones anyway.
