Microsoft Takes a Serious Jab at Samsung in Latest Advert
Not content with the 'Smoked by Windows Phone' campaign, Microsoft have decided to run with a 'Meet Your Match' idea that pits various smartphones against the new Nokia Lumia 920 with Windows Phone 8.
Of course, there are more classier ways to compare brand X to brand Y, but Microsoft pulls out all the stops in its latest advert, pitting the Samsung Galaxy SIII against the Lumia 920. In the video, 'real people' who apparently are in love with their Galaxy SIII, are asked to find a nice Mexican restaurant nearby. If the Galaxy SIII is able to bring up the results before the Lumia can, Ben the Windows Phone guy will part with $100. But sure enough, before you can say 'Taco Bell', Ben has finished his search and is proudly flaunting it in his opponent's gaping face.
And just when you think it's over, Ben then tells the three dismayed participants that as a consolation prize, they're going to give them a Nokia Lumia anyway. Cue hysterical jumping, high-5s, and marketing spiel like "I'M DITCHING MY SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII AND THIS IS MY WINDOWS PHONE!"
