Mozilla won’t bring Firefox to iOS devices

In a recent mobile browser wars panel held in Texas and moderated by CNET, Mozilla's VP of products Jay Sullivan said that will not come on any Apple devices as long as the continue their unfriendly attitude towards third party browsers.

Mozilla pulled their Firefox browser off the Apple App Store in September last year, and currently they neither have anything in development for iOS, nor are the planning anything in the near future. This may come off as a harsh move, but given that users cannot set any third party browser as the default and are stuck with Safari, limited by their closed environment.

The key issue for Mozilla is being unable to use their rendering and javascript engines on iOS. The bottom line is that Mozilla doesn't feel like it can build the browser it wants for Apple's platform.
