Sony launches remote security service My Xperia


My Xperia is the newest addition in Sony's services to the company's customers. My Xperia is new remote security service that "help you locate and protect your Xperia smartphone should it ever get lost". The service which is still in beta launch in the Nordics, and Sony will release the new service globally during Q2 as per the company's official blog.

Using My Xperia is quiet simple, once the unfortunate happens and you lost your Xperia Phone -or stolen-, you can simply go to myxperia.sonymobile.com and log into using your regular Google ID and from there you can locate your phone using a map. In addition to that you can always lock your phone to avoid any misuse of your personal data, or simply wipe your internal memory and SD card.

This service to be provided on all Xperia smartphones using Android ICS and above. Small OTA update will be sent to smart phone once the service go live and a "My Xperia" option will be showing on the smartphone setting menu.
