Evan Blass – the man behind @evleaks is probably the most famous leaker of upcoming phones through his twitter account. Recently Evan Blass announced his retirement from posting phone scoops which will certainly be disappointing for tech enthusiasts but good news for the phone manufacturers that fear product leaks.
Evan Blass recently conducted an interview with TNW (The next web) explaining the main reason behind the retirement is because of financial issues. He didn’t receive enough financial sources to handle his twitter account, and most of his tech-savvy audience were heavily ad-blocked users. To add up things to an unstable life, Blass was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and the disease is worsening progressively. He was also unsuccessful in getting sponsorship and donations to stabilize the issue. When asked if Evan Blass might reverse the decision, he said he certainly won’t and plans to start a new career.
Blass mentioned that his favorite leak was the HTC M8 Prime and his proudest moment was being named one of Weird’s 101 Signals last year, a list of internet’s best reporters, writers and thinkers. He thanked Android Police for the smooth interview with him to bring out his true life identity and his experience in Engadget and Pocketnow has added to his credibility. Blass praised TK O’Connor of TK Tech news to be of the best when it comes to leaks and he will be doing personal feeds in his twitter for those who are concerned.
