Considering the nForce2 Ultra as a “new” chipset from nVidia could, sort-of, be justified. For example, take the Athlon XP 2600+ CPU which is available in two models- one that runs at a 133MHz FSB and the other at 166MHz FSB. Most probably, you wont have any problems running the 133MHz FSB CPU at 166FSB, however, when you buy the 166MHz FSB CPU, you get a guarantee from AMD that this particular CPU will work perfectly at 166MHz FSB. Similarly, with the nForce2 Ultra, nVidia guarantees that it will work flawlessly at 200MHz FSB. Today, we take a look at the Shuttle AN35N Ultra motherboard that is based on this “new” nVidia chipset. Now Shuttle has been mostly focusing on their XPC but before the awesome mini barebones system got wildly popular, Shuttle did make some good motherboards. Lets see if they still have what it takes.
