OCZ has been venturing into many new territories of late such as graphics cards and gaming mice. While memory modules is probably what they’re most known for, their cooling solutions also make enthusiasts happy and today we take a look at their Vindicator- an HSF unit designed to be light weight cooler that easily fits onto most CPU sockets. Lets start out with the specifications.
Specifications: • For Sockets AMD 754/939/940/AM2, Intel LGA775* • Pure Copper base plate and 6 heat pipes for superior heat dissipation • Pure Aluminum fins for ultimate durability
Fan Specs • Low-Noise (18.5 dBA) • Rated Voltage: 12 V DC • Static Pressure: 1.4mm H2O • Fan Speed: 1000RPM • Air Flow: 40 CFM • Bearing type: sleeve bearing
Dimensions: • Heatsink: (L)110 x (W)110 x (H)150mm • Fan: (L)120 x (W) 120 x (H)25mm
The see-thru design of the box allows you to see the heatsink from all sides. Almost half the height of the box is covered by black and blue art with something mentioned on each side of the cube. The back side especially, shows details of the heatsink
Inside the Box we found four items-, the heatsink with an LGA 775 bracket attached to it, a 939/940/754/AM2 socket bracket, a 120mm fan and a manual. Its really amazing to get a heatsink with only two brackets included that fits on almost all AMD and Intel CPUs from the past three years. Most other HSF units that we’ve reviewed come with way too many items and brackets to fit on both AMD and Intel sockets. The included fan is by OCZ and is rated at 1000 RPM with 18.5dBA ( noise Level ) giving 40CFM of Air Flow which makes the fan extremely silent with good air flow.
