Introduction:

MSI is already well known for motherboard production and high-end motherboards. With introduction of each new chipset by either AMD or Intel, MSI is among first to introduce models based on the newest chipset. After reviewing Gigabyte’s X38 board few weeks ago, we’re back with yet another X38 review, with the board this time coming from MSI’s Diamond line.

Features:

* Key components status hardware monitor.
- Monitor the Dual Core CPU each unit status.
- Optimize System
- Auto speed up with system loading change.
* The MSI Live Update online is designed to automatically download and update the BIOS and driver when there’s a new version online. It helps reduce the risk of getting the wrong file and minimize the trouble of searching the files from MSI website.
* Live Update 3 is single utility software that automatically checks BIOS, driver and utility updates and installs for you, which can save your time for searching and lower the risk while updating.

Packaging:

MSI packed X38 board into a colorful box featuring details behind the front page cover that also reveals small portion of the board itself.

Upon opening the box, you’ll find an IDE cable, FDD cable, 6x SATA cables, 3x 4PIN to SATA cables,  I/O back plate shield, 2x Driver CD’s (one for Vista and the another one for XP) and a user manual. MSI also included a modem to use with the SkyTel  service.

MSI was first to start co-operation with Creative and integrate better audio chips on the motherboard so addition of Creative’s audio chip on board plus PCIe version of X-Fi Xtreme Audio comes without surprise.
