Petite- check!, Stylish- check! Beautiful- check! No, I'm not going through my list of specifications for what you might be thinking. Let me make it more obvious- full featured- check!, speedy- check! What I am looking at is the new ultra-mobile from ASUS modeled as the U6S. I received this little wonder from ASUS a couple of weeks back and it came packaged nicely in a box with CDs full or applications, drivers and user guides as well as the power adapter and two batteries. The shiny finish on the top of U6S (which, unfortunately, the camera couldnt capture) looks wicked and goes beautifully with the chrome-like plating and leather finish on the palm-rest. Even the trackpad has a brushed aliminum finish with the hidden buttons separated by a finger scanner. ASUS certainly wins all the points in the style department. The definitively sized U6S measures 11.7" * 8.6" * 0.9"-1.2" and weighs 3.46lbs - great for people who like to carry a small notebook. Personally, I prefer the dimensions of the MacBook Air which is slightly wider and accomodates a full sized keyboard but is razer thin. However, many people prefer a smaller frame and for them, the U6S is definitely one to consider. ASUS packs the U6S with features. Its based on the Intel 965PM chipset with a T7700 CPU (clocked at 2.4GHz) and a dedicated nVidia 8400GPU with 128MB RAM which isexpandable by using your system's memory. We received the unit with 1GB RAM (expandable to 4GB) and a 250GB hard drive with Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit installed. WiFi and bluetooth are also built-in along with a xx MP webcam built on the top of the screen. While I dont use webcams, I'm not sure why ASUS didnt go for a higher-res 1.3 MP one which is common on notebooks today.

The front doesnt have any connectors but the right side has the optical drive, SD/MS card reader, 3.5mm audio input/output ports, another USB port and a Kensington lock. Finally, the back side on the U6S features the Network port along with a 56k modem input, a DSUB and the battery.
