As flash memory prices keep lowering, we see higher capacity drives more readily available. We’ve already looked at the 8GB version of Corsair’s Voyager drive and today, we have the 32GB on the testbed. In case you missed our first article on Survivor, we would quickly like to say that its enclosure is one tough shell- more on that a bit later but lets start off with the features
Features
Encased in extremely strong CNC-milled, anodized aircraft-grade aluminum.
Water resistant to 200M through the use of a EPDM waterproof seal.
Protected from vibration or impact damage through the use of a molded shock-dampening collar.
Plug-&-Play with any USB 2.0 certified peripheral computer port (backward compatible with USB 1.1).
Includes the True Crypt security application (Windows Vista/XP/2000 compatible only) allowing for a virtual encrypted drive using AES-256 encryption.
USB extension cable and Dog Tags included.
Protected by a Limited 10-year Warranty
Packaging
Corsair packs their 32GB Survivor inside a sealed clear plastic cover with some details on the product on the back.
Inside the package we found a USB extender cable, Corsair dog tag and the 32GB Flash drive. If you read the features above, you must’ve noticed that this drive is capable of surviving extreme measures like 200m under water resistance, high temp heat resistance and shock prove against all environments.
We tested these claims made by Corsair in our 8GB version o this drive where we tried boiling it, drowning it, running a car over it and banging with a sledgehammer but none of those tests managed to corrupt the data on the drives.
