When it comes to premium PC gaming, ASUS has never failed to provide stylish and enthusiast-class motherboards for hardcore gamers and PC builders. Today we look at the new ASUS ROG Maximus IX Formula Motherboard with the new Intel i7-7700K processor.
Design and Specifications
Designed with high-end water-cooling features in mind, the new ASUS ROG Maximus IX Formula is one of the latest Z270 chipset motherboards to support the newly released Intel 7th Generation Kaby Lake processors. Never have we thought that a motherboard can look this good, thanks to the metal ROG Armor that covers the entire motherboard. The ROG Armor protects the motherboard and also illuminates with the AURA lighting system.
The AURA lighting system is installed on the heat sinks around the CPU socket, the PCI-e switches, and the main heat sink with the ROG logo.
Speaking of PCI-e, the ASUS ROG Maximus IX Formula consists of 2 x PCIe 3.0 x16 safeslots, 1x PCIe 3.0 x16, and 1 x PCIe x1 PCH slots. These safeslots are designed to fortify the PCI-e slots for high-end GPUs and protection from shearing.
While the heat sinks around the LGA 1151 CPU Socket is stylish with AURA lighting, the ASUS ROG Maximus IX Formula offers the CrossChill EK II direct liquid loop holes for optimal cooling.
