We have covered all of the recent ASUS Strix high-end GeForce cards but it’s time to shift gears and take a look at the mid-tier segment. And for that, ASUS Middle East provided us with an ASUS Strix GTX 1050 Ti OC card for review.
ASUS has impressed us when it comes to the graphics card and motherboard designs. The Strix GTX 1050 Ti OC is based on a similar design language used on the faster ASUS Strix GTX 1080, the Strix GTX 1070, and the Strix GTX 1060 graphics cards. Although the 1050 is smaller-sized model, the card has all the cuts and curves to showcase the killer-instinct look.
What has changed is that instead of lighting strips around the fan shrouds, the AURA lighting system on this card is limited to the little ROG logo. That’s understandable since this is a lower priced. ASUS hs equipped the Strix GTX 1050 Ti OC with two Wing-Blade fans. These fans are known for quiet and efficient cooling while gaming. The DirectCU II, which features heatpipes with direct GPU contact offers 30% cooler gaming performance.
It’s interesting to see that ASUS has included a backplate on the Strix GTX 1050 Ti card, simply because the ASUS Strix Radeon RX 470 has the same design but with no backplate.Connectivity options include two DVI-D ports, one HDMI 2.0 port and one Display Port. The card also requires a 6-pin power connector.
