While AMD has already grabbed the attention of budget-conscious gamers with the Radeon RX 480, the GPU maker has released yet another affordable performance card called the Radeon RX 470. And what we have here with us now is the SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 470, provided to us by AMD.
Design and Features
Not much is there to be said about the looks of the card as its basically the original AMD Radeon RX 470 reference card, with a bit of SAPPHIRE’s own design treatment. The front plate holds a silver-gray finish instead of the black surface, and the fan bears the “SAPPHIRE” logo instead of AMD. The “RADEON” branding on the left also gets the grayish remake, instead of the original red theme.
SAPPHIRE has added a back plate to protect the rear-facing side of the PCB. We also see that the GPU portion is cut out of the back plate, and supported with a reinforced plate.
Output options for the cards includes 1 x HDMI 2.0b and 3 x Display Ports 1.4. SAPPHIRE states that the card uses less than 150W of power consumption, and requires a system with a 500W PSU. And yes, you only need one 6-pin AUX power connector for this device to work.
