While the NVIDIA GTX 980 Ti proudly stands as one of the fastest single-GPU cards on the market, it was just a matter of time until OEMs pushed the limits of the Maxwell GM200 GPU. And so today we get to indulge in the ZOTAC GTX980 Ti AMP! Extreme graphics card in all its glory
Compared to the silent ASUS Strix GTX 980 Ti that we reviewed recently, the ZOTAC AMP! Extreme is their fastest GTX 980 Ti variant designed to achieve more
The card includes a DVI port, one HDMI, and three display ports that support 4K at 60Hz. The ZOTAC AMP! Extreme has 8+8 pin power connectors. The rear of the card appears to be a metal-like plate with “Push the Limit” wordings.
For benchmarks, the ZOTAC GTX980 Ti AMP! Extreme was tested on an MSI Z77A-GD80 motherboard powered by an Intel i7-3770K processor, 2x 4GB GSkill Ripjaws Z, and a 240GB Kingston HyperX SSD
As per the scores, the ZOTAC performed really well at 4K, 2K and 1080 resolutions. But even with the extra horsepower, the ZOTAC GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme appears to be more or less at par with the ASUS Strix GTX 980 Ti. Nevertheless, this card is indeed the best that ZOTAC has to offer at the moment
